Heart Disease
Heart disease remains a major cause of ill health in England. The factors which make the development of heart disease more likely include having a high blood pressure or high cholesterol level. Also being diabetic increases your chances of developing heart disease. In England heart disease affecting the heart (coronary) arteries is the major problem. This leads to a number of conditions including angina, heart attack, heart failure and some heart rhythm disturbances. Improvements in the investigation and treatment of heart disease mean that much can now be done to lessen the symptoms and extend the lives of patients with heart disease.
